Yr Efengyl. St. Ioan iii. 1. Roedd dyn o'r Phariseaid, a'i enw Nicodemus, pennaeth yr Iuddewon. Hwn a ddaeth at yr Iesu liw nos, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Rabbi, nyni a wyddom mai dysgawdwr ydwyt ti wedi dyfod oddiwrth Dduw: canys ni allai neb wneuthur y gwyrthiau hyn yr wyt ti yn eu gwneuthur, oni bai fod Duw gydag ef. Iesu a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Yn wir, yn wir, meddafi ti, Oddieithr geni dyn drachefn, ni ddichon efe weled teyrnas Duw. Nicodemus a ddywedodd wrtho. The Gospel. St. John iii. 1. HERE was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born &gain. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these

wyddost y pethau hyn? Yn wir, yn wir, meddaf i ti, mai yr hyn a wyddom yr ydym yn ei lefaru, a'r hyn a welsom yr ydym yn ei dystiolaethu; a'n tystiolaeth ni nid ydych yn ei derbyn. Os dywedais i chwi bethau daearol, a chwithau nid ydych yn credu; pa fodd, os dywedaf i chwi bethau nefol, y credwch? Ac ni esgynodd neb i'r nef, oddieithr yr hwn a ddisgynodd o'r nef; sef Mab y dyn, yr hwn sydd yn y nêf. Ac megis y dyrchafodd Moses y sarph yn y diffaethwch, felly y mae yn rhaid dyrchafu Mab y dyn; fel na choller pwy bynnag a gredo ynddo ef, ond caffael o hono fwyd tragywyddol.

things? Verily, verily I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not; how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man, who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

The first Sunday after Trinity. The Collect.

God, the strength of all

them that put their trust in thee, mercifully accept our prayers; and because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping of thy commandments we may please thee, both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Epistle. 1 St. John iv. 7.

ANWYLYD, carwn ein gil- BELOVED, let us love one Cariad, Di

y mae: a phob un a'r sydd yn caru, o Dduw y ganwyd ef, ac y mae efe yn adnabod Duw. Yr hwn nid yw yn caru, nid adnabu Dduw; oblegid Duw, cariad yw. Yn hyn yr eglurwyd cariad Duw tuagattom ni, oblegid danfon o Dduw ei unig-anedig Fab i'r byd, fel y byddem fyw trwyddo ef. Yn hyn y mae cariad; nid am i ni garu Duw, ond am iddo ef ein caru ni, ac anfon ei Fab i fod yn iawn dros ein pechodau. Anwylyd, os felly y carodd Duw ni, ninnau

God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his onlybegotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us,

hefyd a ddylem garu ein gilydd. Ni welodd neb Dduw erioed. Os carwn ni ein gilydd, y mae Duw yn trigo ynom, ac y mae ei garlad ef yn berffaith ynom. Wrth hyn y gwyddom ein bod yn trigo ynddo ef, ac yntau ynom ninnau, am ddarfod iddo roddi i ni o'i Yspryd. A ninnau a welsom, ac ydym yn tystiolaethu, ddarfod ir Tad ddanfon y Mab i fod yn Iachawdwr i'r byd. Pwy bynnag a gyffeso fod Iesu yn Fab Duw, y mae Duw yn aros ynddo ef, ac yntau yn Nuw. A nyni a adnabuom, ac a gredasom, y cariad sydd gan Dduw tuagattom ni. Duw, cariad yw; a'r hwn sydd yn aros mewn cariad, sydd yn aros yn Nuw, a Duw ynddo yntau. Yn hyn y perffeithiwyd ein cariad ni, fel y caffom hyder ddydd y farn: oblegid megis ag y mae efe, yr ydym ninnau hefyd yn y byd hwn. Nid oes ofn mewn cariad, eithr y mae perffaith gariad yn bwrw allan ofn; oblegid y mae i ofn boenedigaeth: a'r hwn sydd yn ofni, ni pherffeithiwyd mewn cariad. Yr ydym ni yn ei garu ef, am iddo ef yn gyntaf ein caru ni. Os dywaid neb, Yr wyf yn caru Duw, ac efe yn casâu ei frawd; celwyddog yw: canys yr hwn nid yw yn caru ei frawd yr hwn a welodd, pa fodd y gall efe garu Duw yr hwn nis gwelodd? A'r gorchymmyn hwn sydd gennym oddiwrtho ef; Bodi'r hwn sydd yn caru Duw, garu ei frawd hefyd. Yr Efengyl. S. Luc xvi. 19. YR oedd rhyw wr goludog, ac a wisgid â phorphor a lliain main, ac yr oedd yn cymmeryd byd da yn helaethwých beunydd. Yr oedd hefyd ryw gardottyn, a'i enw Lazarus, yr hwn a fwrid wrth ei borth ef yn gornwydlyd, ac yn chwennychu cael ei borthi a'r briwsion a syrthiai oddiar fwrdd y gwr cyfoethog; ond y

we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us; because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear

in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment: He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, how can he love God, whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

The Gospel. St. Luke xvi. 19. THERE was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple, and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs, which fell from the rich man's table: moreover, the dogs came

own a ddaethant ac a lyfasant ei gornwydydd ef. A bu i'r cardottyn farw, a'i ddwyn gan yr angylion i fynwes Abraham: a'r goludog hefyd a fu farw, ac a gladdwyd. Ac yn uffern efe a gododd ei olwg, ac efe mewn poenau; ac a ganfu Abraham o hirbell, a Lazarus yn ei fynwes. Ac efe a lefodd, ac a ddywedodd, O dad Abraham, trugarhâ wrthyf, a danfon Lazarus i drochi pen ei fys mewn dwfr, ac i oeri fy nhafod; canys fe am poenir yn y fflam hon. Ac Abraham a ddywedodd, Ha fab, coffa i ti dderbyn dy wynfyd yn dy fywyd, ac felly Lazarus ei adfyd; ac yn awr y diddenir ef, ac y poenir dithau. Ac heblaw hyn oll, rhyngom ni a chwithau y sicrhâwyd agendor mawr; fel na allo y rhai a fynnent, dramwy oddiyma attoch chwi; na'r rhai oddiyna, dramwy attom ni. Ac efe a ddywedodd, Yr wyf yn attolwg i ti gan hynny, O dad, ddanfon o honot ef i dy fy nhad: canys y mae i mi bump o frodyr; fel y tystiolaetho iddynt hwy, rhag dyfod o honynt hwythau hefyd i'r lle poenus hwn. Abraham a ddywedodd wrtho, Y mae ganddynt Moses a'r prophwydi; gwrandawant arnynt hwy. Yntau a ddywedodd, Nagê, y tad Abraham; eithr os à un oddiwrth y meirw attynt, hwy a edifarhânt. Yna Abraham a ddywedodd wrtho, Oni wrandawant ar Moses a'r prophwydi, ni chredant chwaith pe codai un oddiwrth y meirw.

Y Colect.

Arglwydd, yr hwn ni phelli byth gynnorthwyo a llywodraethu y rhai yr ydwyt yn eu meithrin yn dy ddilys ofn a'th gariad ; Cadw ni, ni na atto

and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried: and in hell he lift up his eyes being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy life-time receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they who would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham; but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Yr Epistol. 1 Ioan iii. 13.

NA ryfeddwch, fy mrodyr, os

yw'r byd yn eich casâu chwi. Nyni a wyddom ddarfod ein symmud ni o farwolaeth i fywyd, oblegid ein bod yn caru y brodyr. Yr hwn nid yw yn caru ei frawd, y mae yn aros ym marwolaeth. Pob un a'r sydd yn casâu ei frawd, lleiddiad dyn yw: a chwi a wyddoch nad oes i un lleiddiad dyn fywyd tragywyddol yn aros ynddo. Yn hyn yr adnabuom gariad Duw, oblegid dòdi o hono ef ei einioes drosom ni; a ninnau a ddylem ddodi ein heinioes tros y brodyr. Eithr yr hwn sydd ganddo dda'r byd hwn, ac a welo ei frawd mewn eisiau, ac a gauo ei dosturi oddiwrtho; pa fodd y mae cariad Duw yn aros ynddo ef? Fy mhlant bychain, na charwn ar air, nac ar dafod yn unig; eithr mewn gweithred a gwirionedd. Ac wrth hyn y gwyddom ein bod o'r gwirionedd, ac y sicrhâwn ein calonnau ger ei fron ef. Oblegid os ein calon a'n condemnia, mwy yw Duw na'n calon; ac efe a ŵyr bob peth. Anwylyd, os ein calon ni'n condemnia, y mae gennym hyder ar Dduw. A pha beth bynnag a ofynom, yr ydym yn ei dderbyn ganddo ef; oblegid ein bod yn cadw ei orchymmynion ef, ac yn gwneuthur y pethau sy yn rhyngu bodd yn ei olwg ef. A hwn yw ei orchymmyn ef; Gredu a honom yn enw ei Fab ef Iesu Grist, a charu ein gilydd, megis y rhoddes efe orchymmyn i ni. A'r hwn sydd yn cadw ei orchymmynion ef, sydd yn trigo ynddo ef, ac yntau ynddo yntau: ac wrth hyn y gwyddom ei fod

The Epistle. 1 St. John iii. 13.

MARVEL not, my bre

thren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him ; how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed, and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence towards God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the Name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one ́another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him and hereby we know that he abideth in us, by
