Although the Sermons, contained in this volume, which treat of these sublime subjects, can need no other commendation, than their own excellencies; yet, as far as my little influence could reach, would I gladly exert it, to render the reading of them as extensive as possible. I venture to believe, that they carry with them the imprimatur of the Master. And under this persuasion, I feel no hesitation to recommend them as the humble labours of the servant. And I am equally convinced, that He, who causeth them to be sent forth, will bless them to the end intended, in making them instrumental in his Almighty Hand, to make manifest the sweet favour of his name in every place.
