ABRAHAM D. MERRILL, of Lynn, and the Clerk was instructed to notify him of his elec tion. A message was received from the Senate, by Hon. Mr. Odiorne, proposing a Convention of the two branches, at twelve o'clock, M., on Monday next, for the choice of Councillors. The House concurred in the proposition, and Mr. Thaxter, of Watertown, was charged with a message to the Senate to inform them thereof. A message was received from the Senate, by Hon. Mr. Munroe, announcing the choice, by that branch, of Benjamin Stevens, Esq., as Sergeant-at-Arms. Ordered, in concurrence, that the Clerk of the Senate give notice to Benjamin Stevens, Esq., that he has been chosen Sergeant-at-Arms for the current political year. Ordered, in concurrence, That Messrs Dawley and Lee, of the Senate, and Messrs. Thomas, of New Bedford, Brayton, of Fall River, C. O. Rogers, of Boston, Phelps, of Springfield, and Weston of Marshfield, be a Committee to consider what reference shall be made of the several portions of the Governor's Address.
