Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him. Ps. xxxvii. 5.

TH

HOUGH dark my path, and sad my lot,
Let me be still, and murmur not,
Or breathe the prayer divinely taught,
Thy will be done.

Let but my fainting heart be blest
With Thy sweet Spirit for its guest,
My God, to Thee I leave the rest ;
Thy will be done.

Renew my will from day to day;
Blend it with Thine; and take away
All that now makes it hard to say,
Thy will be done!

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.-Prov. xvi. 3.

LORD, Thy heavenly grace impart,
And fix my frail inconstant heart;
Henceforth, my chief desire shall be
To dedicate myself to Thee.

Whate'er pursuits my time employ,
One thought shall fill my soul with joy ;
That silent, secret thought shall be,
That all my hopes are fix'd on Thee.
Renouncing every worldly thing,
Safe 'neath the covert of Thy wing,
My sweetest thought henceforth shall be,
That all I want, I find in Thee.

silence mighty things are wrought-Silently builded, thought on thought, Truth's temple greets the sky;

And like a citadel with towers,

The soul with her subservient powers
Is strengthen'd silently.

Consider the work of God."-Eccles. vii. 13..
THERE is a book, who runs may read
Which heavenly truth imparts,

And all the lore its scholars need,
Pure eyes and Christian hearts.
The works of God above, below,
Within us and around,

Are pages in that book to show
How God himself is found.
The glorious sky, embracing all,
Is like the Maker's love,
Wherewith encompass'd, great and small
In peace and order move.

The moon above, the Church below,
A wondrous race they run,

But all their radiance, all their glow,
Each borrows of its sun.

Thou, who hast given me eyes to see,
And love this sight so fair,

Give me a heart to find out Thee
And read Thee everywhere.

have two things to do, to live and die, To win another, and a longer life; Out of this earthly change and weary strife, To catch the hours that one by one go by, And write the cross upon them as they fly.

"CRY aloud, and spare not,"

'Tis the Lord's command,

Should they blame thee,-care not,
Cry to every land.

Let not any nation,

All the world around,

Of the great Salvation

Ignorant be found.

Yes, the Lord will make us
Victors in the fight;

He will not forsake us,

Nor withhold His might.

Mighty as the foe is,

We have more than he ;

Vain his strength and prowess-
Victors we shall be !
