Chronic pain is the most costly and burdensome health problem facing the world. Explain Pain (2003) written for pain sufferers and clinicians, launched the Explain Pain revolution followed up by The Explain Pain Handbook: Protectometer (2015). Explaining pain has become one of the world?s most effective and inexpensive treatments for pain. So why another book? There is an urgent need to summarise the recent updated neuroimmune sciences and to make them clinically relevant for those at the coalface. But we are also aware that clinicians need help with translation of these novel sciences into effective educational strategies. Explain Pain Supercharged is for all health professionals involved in delivering pain education. In this book, written in Moseley & Butler?s unique style the neuroimmune sciences of pain are updated and rewritten and the successful evidence base for Explain Pain is presented. It is all blended together with conceptual change science and curriculum development. Finally they provide a taxonomy of therapeutic narratives ? neuroscience nuggets and novellas - for immediate clinical application.
