Resolved, That the Controller is authorized to draw a warrant in favor of the Sergeant-atArms of the Assembly, and the Treasurer is instructed to pay the same out of the Contingent Fund of the Assembly, to the amount of thirty-four dollars and fifty cents ($34 50), for expenses incurred, as follows:

I herewith transmit to your honorable body an "amended statement" of the vote polled in the several counties of the State upon the question of calling a Convention to revise and change the Constitution of the State of California, at the general election for members of Assembly, held Wednesday, the fifth day of September, eighteen hundred and seventy-seven. Also, the official statement of the total number of electors voting at said election in each of the counties of the State, except the Counties of Humboldt and San Diego, which are estimated, they having failed to make the returns required by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 8.

Eighteen members present and voting.

Senate Bill No. 146, above reported, taken up, rules suspended, and Mr. Barstow moved to amend section one by striking out "forty thousand dollars" and inserting "five hundred thousand dollars." Lost.

Mr. Dare moved to amend the last subdivision of section one by inserting the following: "And that the money now being paid for the use of said machine shall be applied to the employment of laboring men."
