STATE OF MAINE. IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO. AN ACT in addition to an Act entitled "an Act for the encouragement of Agriculture, Horticulture, &c." Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep2 resentatives in Legislature assembled—as follows: 3 SECT. 1. Any Agricultural, or Agricultural 4 and Horticultural Society, availing itself of the 5 benefit of the eighty-second chapter of the 6 Revised Statutes, may, by by-laws or otherwise, 7 provide that, in cases in which a premium or 8 premiums shall be awarded to any person who 9 is not a member of such Society, there shall be 10 deducted from the premium or premiums so 11 awarded, for the benefit of said Society, a sum 12 equal to the annual assessment upon the mem13 bers thereof. |
