He was born Sept. 22, 1695, and fucceeded his father the 27th of Jan. 1725-6; elected Knight of the Garter May 18, 1730; and foon after made Lord Steward of his Majesty's Houthold, and Ambaffador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the States General, and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in the year 1745. On the 15th of September 1733, he married Lady Melefina, Countefs of Walfingham. His title defcends to Mafter Philip Stanhope, a minor, about eighteen years of age, now at Leipfic univerity. General Sir Charles Hotam, and Beaumont Hotham, Efq; member in parliament for Wigan in Lancashire, are his executors.

Francis Greville, Earl of Brooke and of Warwick, and Lord Brooke, Baron Brooke of Beauchamp-Court, in Warwickshire, Knight of the molt Ancient and Noble Order of St. Andrew, or the Thistle, Recorder of Warwick, one of the Vice-Prefidents of the Foundling-Hofpital. He is fucceeded in title and estate by his fon Lord Greville, now one of the Lords of Trade. His Lordship was born in 1719, fucceeded his father, William, as Lord Brooke, in July, 1727; and July 7, 1746, 20 George II. was created Earl Brooke of Warwick-Cattle, in the county of Warwick; and, on the death of the late Earl of Warwick, was created earl of Warwick, Nov. 27, 1759, 33 Geo. II. His Lordship married, May 16, 1742, the Hon. Mifs Hamilton, eldest daughter of the Lord Archibald Hamilton, by whom he had iffue, George Lord Greville, member for the town of Warwick, born Sept. 16, 1746; Charles-Francis, born May 12, 1749; Louila-Auguita, born April 14, 1743; Frances Elizabeth, born May 11, 1744, wife of Sir Harry Harpur, Bart. Charlotte Mary, born July 6, 1745, married to John Lord Garlies, Aug. 14, 1762, and died May 31, 1763; Robert Fulke, born Feb. 3, 1750-1; and August 26, 1760, another daughter.

7. Sir Walter Simpfon, in Cornhill, aged 78.

8. The Right Hon. James Cranftoun, Lord Cranftoun, of Creting, in the county of Roxburgh, in the kingdom of Scotland, at his house in Portman-fquare. He was the fixth Lord of that name in lineal defcent from William, created Lord Cranitoun, by King James I. in the year 1611, and fon of William the fifth Lord Cranstoun, by Lady Jane Ker, fifter to the late, and aunt to the prefent Marquis of Lothian. His Lordship married Sophia, daughter of Brown, Eiq; by whom he had iffue five fons, viz. William, now Lord Cranitoun, born in 1751; Brown; James, an officer in the navy; Charles, and George. The family take their name from the lands and barony of Cranftoun, in Mid-Lo- · thian, of which they were poffeffed in 1250, which lands were allo confirmed by a charter from King David the Second, granted in the year 1329 to Thomas de Cranftoun.

13. At Twickenham, the Right Hon. James O'Hara, Lord Tyrawley, Field-Marshal of all his Majefty's Forces, Colonel of the Second (or Coldstream) regiment of footguards, Governor of Portfmouth, and one of his Majefty's Moft Hon. Privy-Council. His Lordthip fucceeded his father, the late Lord, in June 1724. He was born in 1690. In the life-time of his father, he was created Baron Kilmaine, of Kilmaine, and fucceeded him as colonel of the regiment of English fuzileers. He terved with great bravery in all Queen Anne's wars.

he refided till 1741, when he was
recalled. On Dec. 18, 1735, he
was conftituted a Brigadier-Gene-
ral; July 2, 1739, a Major-Gene-
ral; and April 5, 1743, a Lieute-
tenant-General, having, in August
1739, been made colonel of a re-
giment of horfe on the Irish elta-
blifhment, which he refigned April
15, 1743, on being appointed cap-
tain and colonel of the fecond troop
of horse-grenadier guards. In No-
vember, that year, he was appoint-
ed Ambaffador-Extraordinary to the
court of Ruffia, where he refided tiil
Feb. 25, 1744. On April 30, 1745,
he fucceeded the Earl of Albemarle
in the command of the third troop
of horse-guards, as in 1746 he did
Colonel Columbine, in his regi-
ment of foot on the British efta-
blishment. On August 19, 1749,
he got Hamilton's regiment of dra-
goons; and in 1762, Bland's dra-
goons.
In 1752, he was again
Ambassador to Portugal, and has
executed extraordinary commiffions
there fince. His Lordship married
Mary, only furviving daughter of
William Viscount Montjoy, and
filter of William Earl of Bleffing-
ton, but has no issue by her.

20. At Gorthy, Lady Murray, widow of Sir Patrick Murray, of Ochertyre, Bart.

and unremitted attention to every maternal duty, prevented the lofts of a father being felt by his infant family, molt of whom he had the misfortune to furvive, but not till fhe had received from them a portion of that well-deferved gratitude, with which her memory mult be ever revered by her latest defcendants.

27. At Richmond, Sir Robert Price, Bart. He has left his fortune to feven old batchelors in indigent circumitances.

29. After a fhort illness, the Right Hon. Lady Delamer, the relict of Lord Delamer; a lady whole truly chriftian life and exemplary virtues, made her highly valued when living by all who knew her, and will make her death as generally lamented.

Right Hon. Richard Barry, Earl of Barrymore, Vilcount Buttevant Baron Barry of Barry's-Court, Olethan, and Ibawne, a captain in the 9th regiment of dragoons, at the feat of Lord Villiers, in the county of Waterford, of a violent fever. Denzil Ibbetson, Efq; youngest fon of the late Sir Henry Ibbetion, Bart. He was killed by an accidental discharge of his gun when out a-hooting in the woods at Cocken, the feat of his uncle Ralph Carr, Efq; near Durham.

18. Charles Slingby, of LoftusHill, Efq; only brother to Sir Saville Slingby, of Scriven-Park, in the Weft-Riding of Yorkshire, Bart. At St. Edmund's-Bury, the Hon. Felton Hervey, Efq; uncle to the Earl of Bristol. He reprefented that borough in parliament for 'merly.

22. The Right Hon. George Lord Lyttelton, Baron of Frankley, in Worcestershire, and Baronet. His Lordthip was born Jan. 17, 1708-9. He married, in 1742, Lucy, daughter of Hugh Fortescue, of Filleigh, in Devonshire, Efq; by whom he had iffue one fon, Thomas, (who now fucceeds him in title and estate) and a daughter named Lucy. Their mother dying in 1746 7, he married a fecond time, in 1749, Elizabeth, daughter of Field-Marshal Sir Robert Rich, Bart. by whom he had no iffue. His Lordfhip was one of his Majefty's Moft Hon. Privy-Council, F. R. S. and fon and heir of Sir Thomas Lyttelton, Bart. He was chofen in feveral parliaments for Oakhampton, in Devon. In 1737, he was appointed Principal Secretary to the Prince of Wales, father of his prefent Majefty; and in 1744, conftituted one of the Lords Commiffioners of the Treafury, which he refigned in 1754, on being appointed Cofferer to his Majelty's Houfhold. The fame year he was made Privy-Counfelior;

and in Dec. 1755, having refigned the office of Cofferer to his Majelty's Houthold, he was made Chancellor of the Exchequer; and in 1757, was created Baron of Frankiey. His fon Thomas, born on Jan. 30, 1743-4, is married to the widow of the late Col. Peach, in the East-Indies; and his daugh ter Lucy married Arthur Earl of Angleiey, on May 10, 1767. Lord Lyttelton's diforder was an inflammation of the bowels, which occafioned a very radden death. exprefs was fent to his fon at Spa, in Germany, for his return. His Lordship celebrated the death of hist first wife in a monody, that will be remembered whilst conjugal affection, and a tafte for poetry, exift in this country.
