Chriftian Reader,

HESE following Lines are Recommended to thy Serious Perufal in the Love of God, who is putting His Law in Mens inward Parts, and writing of it in their Hearts, according to that Glorious Promife recorded in Jer. 31.31,32, 33. Mayft thou Read them in the Jame Love wherein they were penn'd, and have a due regard to that Law, which is Light, is my fervent Defire, and hearty Prayer to the Lord. And as the Eye of thy Mind is turned to the Light, (the Law or Spirit) within thy felf, in the perufal of them, fomething therein, I hope, thou wilt find which may prove Advantageous to thee. Good of Souls I feek; in whofe Love I was drawn, fome Tears ago, to Vifit divers Provinces and Islands in America: And finding much Openness my Mind towards the Inhabitants thereof; many of whom, in divers Places, came to our Religious Meetings, I have, with great Earnefinefs, Since 1 left them, as well as while with them, defired that they might come to Live and Walk in the Truth, that the Light and Glory of it might be their Crown. And having no other way at prefent to fignifie my Concern of Mind for them than by Writing, it hath been upon me a confiderable time to fend, Friendly Reader, what fol loweth, for thy Perufal and Serious Confideration; de firing thou mayft bave regard to the Grace of God, (in order to thy Salvation) to which I Commit thee; who am thy Sincere and Chriftian Friend,

EAR People, You who are feeking after the Way of Righteoufnefs, whether in New England, Road-Ifland, or Long-Island; or wherefoever this may come, my Love in the Lord Jefus Chrift Saluteth; withing that Grace, and Peace from GOD, the Father of our Lord Jefus Chrift, may poffefs your Souls: And that you may Live. with Him in his Kingdom of Glory; Into which the Unclean cannot enter, Eph. 5. 5. And feeing no Unclean Perfon hath any Part, or Inheritance in the Kingdom of Chrift, and of God, it ought to be all Mens Concern, and would

would be their Intereft, to come unto Shiloh, (i. e. the Lord fefus Chrift) unto whom the Gathering of the People is to be, There was an outward Gathering to him in the Days of his Flesh; when he appeared in the Land of Judea, many flocked after him: In that Day, and for a time, fome were affected with his Doctrine, who afterwards, when they were offended with fomething that fell from his Bleffed Lips, left him, and would follow him no longer; yea, many of his Difciples went back, and walked no more with him, Joh. 6. 66. But when the Query was put by our bleffed Saviour to the Twelve, Will ye also go away? Ver. 67. Peter anfwered, Whither shall we go? thou haft the Words of Eternal Life. Ver. 68. And whither fhall any poor Soul go, that wants Peace and Reft, for Direction and Help? Shall it not come unto Chrift? Shall it not gather to the Bleffed Shiloh? There was, as I noted, an outward Gathering to him: there is now, in this Gofpel-Day, to be an inward and Spiritual Gathering to him; a Gathering, or being Spiritually Gathered to his Spirit.

Now if any Man have not the Spirit of Chrift, he is none of his, Rom. 8. 9. And as Men gather to the Spirit of Chrift in themfelves, (i. e.) as their Minds are truly turned to it, they come to be Quickned by it. All Men have been dead in Sins and Trefpaffes; and that People might be Redeemed, and brought out of this State of Spiritual Death, and Separation from God, Chrift Fefus came into the World, and, by the Grace of God, tafted
