The Gospel. St. Matth. iv. 18. ESUS, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, (for they were fishers ;) and he saith unto them, Follow me; and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

Saint Thomas the Apostle.

The Collect.

ALMIGHTY and everliving God, who for the more confirmation of the faith didst suffer thy holy Apostle Thomas to be doubtful in thy Son's resurrection; Grant us so perfectly, and without all doubt, to believe in thy Son Jesus Christ, that our faith in thy sight may never be reproved. Hear us, Ŏ Lord, through the same Jesus Christ, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, now and for evermore. Amen.

The Epistle. Ephes. ii. 19.

Now

OW therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God; and are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself

being the chief corner-stone; in whom all the building, fitly framed together, groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord; in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God, through the Spirit.

Yntau a ddywedodd wrthynt, Oni chaf weled yn ei ddwylaw ef ôl yr hoelion, a dodi fy mys yn ôl yr hoelion, a dodi fy llaw yn ei ystlys ef, ni chredaf fi. Ac wedi wyth niwrnod drachefn yr oedd ei ddisgyblion ef i mewn, a Thomas gydâ hwynt. Yna'r Iesu a ddaeth, a'r drysau yn gauad, ac a safodd yn y canol, ac a ddywedodd, Tangnefedd i chwi. Wedi hynny y dywedodd efe wrth Thomas, Moes yma dy fys, a gwel fy nwylaw; ac estyn dy law, a dod yn fy ystlys: ac na fydd anghredadyn, ond credadyn. A Thomas a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Fy Arglwydd a'm Duw. Yr Iesu a ddywedodd wrtho, Am i ti fy ngweled, Thomas, y credaist: bendigedig yw y rhai ni welsant, ac a gredasant. A llawer hefyd o arwyddion eraill a wnaeth yr Iesu y'ngŵydd ei ddisgyblion, y rhai nid ydynt ysgrifenedig yn y llyfr hwn. Eithr y pethau hyn a 'sgrifenwyd, fel y credoch chwi mai yr Iesu yw Crist, Mab Duw; a chan gredu, y caffoch fywyd yn ei Enw ef.

with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hand and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord, and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his Name.

Yn lle yr Epistol. Act. ix. 1. A Saul etto yn chwythu bygythiau a chelanedd yn erbyn disgyblion yr Arglwydd, a aeth at yr arch-offeiriad, ac a ddeisyfiodd ganddo lythyrau i Ddamascus at y synagogau; fel, os cai efe neb o'r ffordd hon, na gwŷr, na gwragedd, y gallai efe eu dwyn hwy yn rhwym i Ierusalem. Ac fel yr oedd efe yn ymdaith, bu iddo ddyfod yn agos i Ddamascus; ac yn ddisymmwth llewyrchodd o'i amgylch oleuni o'r nef. Ac efe a syrthiodd ar y ddaear, ac a glybu lais yn dywedyd wrtho, Saul, Saul, paham yr wyt yn fy erlid i? Yntau a ddywedodd, Pwy wyt ti, Arglwydd? A'r Arglwydd a ddywedodd, Myfi wyf Iesu, yr hwn yr wyt ti yn ei erlid. Caled i ti wingo yn erbyn y symbylau. Yntau, gan grynu, ac â braw arno, a ddywedodd, Arglwydd, beth a fynni di i mi ei wneuthur? A'r Arglwydd a ddywedodd wrtho, Cyfod, a dos i'r ddinas; ac fe a ddywedir i ti pa beth sy raid i ti ei wneuthur. A'r gwŷr oedd yn cyd-deithio âg ef a safasant yn fud, gan glywed y llais, ac heb weleb neb. A Saul a gyfododd oddiar y ddaear, a phan agorwyd ei lygaid, ni welai efe neb eithr hwy a'i tywysasant ef erbyn ei law, ac a'i dygasant ef i mewn i Ddamascus. Ac efe a fu dridiau heb weled, ac ni wnaeth na bwytta, nac yfed. Ac yr oedd rhyw

For the Epistle. Acts ix. 1. A threatenings and slaughter Saul, yet breathing out against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that, if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. And, as he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he, trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth, and when his eyes were opened he saw no man; but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias, and

ddisgybl yn Damascus, a'i enw Ananias. A'r Arglwydd a ddywedodd wrtho ef mewn gweledigaeth, Ananïas. Yntau a ddywedodd, Wele fi, Arglwydd. A'r Arglwydd a ddywedodd wrtho, Cyfod, a dos i'r heol a elwir Uniawn, a chais yn nhŷ Iudas un a'i enw Saul, o Tarsus: canys wele, y mae yn gweddio; ac efe a welodd mewn gweledigaeth wr a elwir Ananïas, yn dyfod i mewn, ac yn dodi ei law arno, fel y gwelai eilwaith. Yna yr attebodd Ananïas, O Arglwydd, mi a glywais gan lawer am y gwr hwn, faint o ddrygau a wnaeth efe i'th saint di yn Ierusalem: ac yma y mae ganddo awdurdod oddiwrth yr archoffeiriaid i_rwymo pawb sy'n galw ar dy Enw di. A dywedodd yr Arglwydd wrtho, Dos ymaith: canys y mae hwn yn llestr etholedig i mi, i ddwyn fy Enw ger bron y Cenhedloedd, a brenhinoedd, a phlant Israel. Canys myfi a ddangosaf iddo pa bethau eu maint sydd raid iddo ef eu dïoddef er mwyn fy Enw i. Ac Ananïas a aeth ymaith, ac a aeth i mewn i'r tŷ: ac wedi dodi ei ddwylaw arno, efe a ddywedodd, Y brawd Saul, yr Arglwydd a'm hanfonodd i, Iesu, yr hwn a ymddangosodd i ti ar y ffordd y daethost, fel y gwelych drachefn, ac y'th lanwer â'r Yspryd Glân. Ac yn ebrwydd y syrthiodd oddiwrth ei lygaid ef megis cen: ac efe a gafodd ei olwg yn y man; ac efe a gyfododd, ac a fedyddiwyd. Ac wedi iddo gymmeryd bwyd, efe a gryfhâodd. A bu Saul gyda'r disgyblion oedd yn Damascus, dalm o ddyddiau. Ac yn ebrwydd yn y synagogau efe a bregethodd Grist, mai efe yw Mab Duw. A phawb a'r a'i clybu ef, a synnasant, ac a ddywedasant, Onid hwn yw'r un

to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for behold, he prayeth, and hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias, coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem; and here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy Name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way; for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my Name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: for I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my Name's sake. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and, putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord, (even Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest,) hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. But all that heard him were amazed, and said, Is not this he that destroyed them which called on

The Gospel. St. Matth. xix. 27. PETER answered and said

unto Jesus, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Name's sake, shall receive an hundred-fold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.
