In compliance with the resolution of the Senate of the 25th of April, requesting certain information concerning lead mines on lands of the United States, I herewith transmit a report from the Secretary of War.

A message from the House of Representatives, by Mr. Dougherty, their Clerk:

Mr. President: The House of Representatives concur in the amendments of the Senate to the bill, entitled "An act further to amend the several acts relating to the Treasury, War, and Navy Departments;" in the amendments of the Senate to the bill, entitled "An act for the relief of Joshua Cannon, Reuben Hickman, and Fielding

Hickman;" also, in the amendments of the Senate to the bill, entitled "An act confirming claims to lots in the town of Mobile, and to land in the former province of West Florida, which claims have been reported favorably on by the commissioners appointed by the United States."

The House of Representatives concur in all the amendments of the Senate to the bill, entitled "An act to establish certain roads, and to discontinue others," except to the amendment striking out the following words from the 2d section: "From Fayetteville, in North Carolina, leaving the road to Camden at or near Laurel Hill, by Cheraw to Camden:" to which they disagree.

They have passed the following bills, which originated in the Senate: "An act for the relief of John Holmes;" "An act for the relief of Samuel Walker;" "An act for the relief of Matthew M.Nair;" "An act granting a right of pre-emption to Noble Osborne and William Doake;" "An act for the relief of the President and Directors of the Planters' Bank of New Orleans;” “An act authorizing the payment of a sum of money to John Gooding and James Williams."

The Speaker of the House of Representatives having signed sundry enrolled bills, I am directed to bring them to the Senate for the signature of their President. And he withdrew.

The President signed the enrolled bills last reported to have been examined, and they were delivered to the committee to be laid before the President of the United States.
