The Senate resumed as in committee of the whole, the consideration of the bill entitled "An act for the relief of Alexander Holmes, and Benjamin Hough," and the bill having been amended, the President reported it to the House accordingly; and the amendments having been concurred in,

On the question-"Shall the amendments be engrossed and the bill be read a third time as amended ?"

It was determined in the affirmative.

The said amendments having been reported by the committee correctly engrossed, the bill was read a third time as amended.

Resolved, That this bill pass with amendments. Ordered, That the Secretary request the concurrence of the House of Representatives there in.

Ordered, That the committee on Finance, to whom was referred the petition of James Miller, of Louisiana, he discharged from the further consideration thereof.

On motion, by Mr. Roberts,

Ordered, That Robert Kid, of the city of Philadelphia, have leave to withdraw his petition.

Mr President-The House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments of the Senate,

to the bill entitled "An act for the relief of Alexander Holmes, and Benjamin Hough;" also, in the amendment to the bill entitled "An act for the relief of Peter Caslard."

They have passed a bill entitled "An act extending the time for locating Virginia military land warrants, and for returning the surveys thereon, to the General Land Office, and for giving futther time to complete the surveys and obtain patents for lands lands located under Virginia resolution warrants," in which bill, they request the concurrence of the Senate. And he withdrew. The bill last mentioned was read the first and second time.
