and Manufactures, to whom was referred the bill entitled "An act for erecting a light-house on the west chop of Holmes' Hole harbour, in the State of Massachusetts." reported it without amendment, and the bill was considered as in committee of the whole.

Mr. Ruggles reported from the committee that they had laid before the President of the United States the nine enrolled bills last reported to have been examined.

The amendment to the bill entitled "An act for the relief of Mary Wells," having been reported by the committce correctly engrossed, the third reading of the bill was objected to by Mr. Roberts, as being against the rule. And,

On motion by Mr. Williams,

It was agreed to suspend the twelfth rule for conducting business in the Senate, to the end of the present session. And

Mr. Ruggles reported from the committee that they had examined and found duly enrolled. the bill entitled, “An act to authorize the appointment of a surveyor of the lands in the western part

of the Mississippi Territory, and the sale of certain lands therein described ;" the bill entitled "An act authorizing a subscription for the tenth volume of public documents;" the bill entitled "An act to amend and explain an act giving pensions to the orphans and widows of persons slain in the public or private armed vessels of the United States;" also, the bill entitled "An act to continue in force an act, entitled, 'An act for establishing trading houses with the Indian tribes.'"

The Senate resumed, as in committee of the whole, the consideration of the bill entitled "An act to repeal so much of any acts now in force as authorizes a loan of money or an issue of Treasury notes," and no amendment having been made thereto, the President reported it to the House.
