liams;" a bill entitled "An act for the relief of Mary Wells;" a bill entitled “An act for the relief of Asa Wells;" also, a bill entitled “An act supplementary to the act, entitled, An act directing the disposition of money paid into the courts of the United States;'" in which bills they request the concurrence of the Senate.

They have passed the bill from the Senate, entitled, “An act authorizing the settlement of the accounts of Flavil Sabin, deceased;" the bill, entitled, “An act for the relief of the legal representatives of Ignace Chalmet Delino, deceased, and of Anthony Cruzat and L. P. Deverges;" the bill entitled "An act authorizing vessels departing from the town of the Bayou St. John and basin of the Canal de Carondelet, for foreign ports, to clear out at the custom-house in the city of New-Orleans."

They have also passed the bill from the Senate, entitled, “An act to authorize the appointment of a surveyor for the lands in the northern part of the Mississippi Territory, and the sale of certain lands therein described," with amendments, in which they request the concurrence of the Senate. And he withdrew.

The President signed the five enrolled bills last reported to have been examined, and they were delivered to the committee to be laid before the President of the United States.

Mr. Morrow, from the committee on the Public Lands, to whom was referred the amendments of the House of Representatives to the bill, entitled,

“An act to enable the people of the western part of the Mississippi Territory to form a constitution and State government, and for the admission of such State into the Union on an equal footing with the original States," reported the same without amendment; and,

On motion,

The Senate resumed the consideration of the said amendments to the bill last mentioned.

Whereupon,

Resolved, That they concur therein.

Ordered, That the Secretary notify the House of Representatives accordingly.

On motion,

The Senate adjourned to 11 o'clock to-morrow morning; to which time the several orders of the day were postponed.
