of the Diocese of Louisiana. The Rector of Grace Church, St. Francisville, presented a report, of which the following is an abstract: His first visit to St. Francisville was in May, 1837, when he consented to remain as Pastor of the parish till November. On the 15th of February, 1838, the church was consecrated, and six persons were confirmed by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Kemper. On the 4th of March, he accepted the Rectorship of the parish. Since his first connection with the Church at St. Francisville, the following ecclesiastical rites have been performed, viz. Baptisms, (infants, 14 white, and 31 colored; adults, 7 white, and 25 colored,) 77:-Marriages, 3:-Funerals, 14:-Communicants, added 2— total (12 white and 2 colored,) 14; besides 15 Communicants belonging to other denominations. The Treasurer reported unpaid a bill for publishing the Journal of the Primary Convention, which Mr. Duncan promised to lay before the Vestry of Christ Church. Resolved, That the Secretary be requested to furnish each of the parishes in the Diocese with a manuscript copy of the proceedings of this Convention. After prayer by the Rev. Mr. Ranney, the Convention adjourned, to meet in Christ Church, New-Orleans, on the third Wednesday in January, 1840. Attest, WM. F. BRAND, Secretary. NEW ORLEANS. This being the day appointed for the meeting of the Annual Convention, several members assembled; but a quorum not being present, they adjourned to meet on the following day at 12 o'clock. CHRIST CHURCHI, JAN. 16, 12 o'clock. The members met agreeably to adjournment; and after prayers by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Chase, of Illinois, the Convention organized by the appointment of the Rev. N. S. Wheaton, D. D., President pro tempore, and Thomas N. Morgan, Secretary. At the request of the President, the Rt. Rev. Bishop Chase presided in the Convention. The Rev. Dr. Wheaton, and John Whitehead, Esq., were appointed a Committee to receive and examine the certificates of the Lay Delegates; who reported the following persons as entitled to seats in the Convention : From Christ Church, New-Orleans, Richard Relf, James Hopkins, Ambrose Lanfear, Lucius C.
