On a piece of vellum fastened to this grant “Isti interfuerunt apud Falesiam assisa anno gratie M°CCXVo, in Cathedra Sancti Petri, quando Dionisius de Coluncis et Hugo de Coluncis elemosinaverunt monialibus Sancte Margarite quicquid habebant apud Roevillam et inde fecerunt cartas suas." HE records calendared in the following list are part of the

papers of the Nicholas Family, to which belonged Sir

Edward Nicholas, Secretary of State to Charles I. and Charles II. and whose correspondence Mr. G. F. Warner has published for the Camden Society.' The papers, acquired by the library at a public auction in London in 1919,2 relates to Sir Edward Nicholas and his two sons John and Edward.
