WHEREAS the track of the Course on the Flat, at Newmarket, has been much cut up and damaged, and it is desirable for the preservation thereof, that no Trials should be run upon it in the Spring. Notice is hereby given, that the Stewards have directed Chains to be fixed across the same, which will not be removed till the ensuing Craven Meeting. It is hoped that Gentlemen will run their trials on the south side of the Devil's Ditch, or on the New Mile set out on the Flat, near the Ditch; and if a trial on the Ground is thought indispensably necessary, a sufficient space will be found for that purpose on the left hand side of, and immediately adjoining to, the present track.
