In India, Lieutenant Gilbert Ramfay, of the Bengal Establishment.

At Calcutta, 11th May laft, Lieut. H. P. Wilfon.

Lately at Barbadoes, Lieut. George Sproule of the 60th regiment.

In September laft died on the island of St John's, North America, Alexander Fletcher, Etq; formerly Captain in his Majefty's late 84th regiment. This gen. tleman had become a fettler since the A. merican war on this ifland, where he obtained a grant of land, on account of his fervices in the army.

In the ifland of Antigua, Oct. laft, Mr Robert Mackay, fon of George Mackay of Bighoufe, Efq.

At Tobago, on the 22d Oct. laft, John Maxwell, Efq. fecond fon of the late William Maxwell of Carriden, Efq.

At Bourdeaux, France, in confequence of a fright occafioned by the confinement of the English merchants there, William Barton, Efq. of Feathard, in Ireland.

At Bath, his Excellency David Parry, Governor of Barbadoes, which office be held for twelve years with diftinguished reputation.

At Toulon, Nov. 6. Major Bennet of the 2d battalion of Royals.

At Amiens, in France, Nov. laft, Michael Bain, Efq. eldeft fon of the late Rev. Mr Bain, Edinburgh. He ferved with diflinguifhed reputation as an officer in Elliot's light dragoons during the last German war.

Lately, his Grace the Duke of Somerfet. He is fucceeded in his titles and eftates by his eldeft fon, now a minor.

Mrs Prifcilla Dickinson, thirteenth daughter of the late J. Dickinson, Efq. of Eaft Place, in the county of York. She and twelve other fifters have died at the age of 62. Their father and grand-fa ther died at the fame period of life.

Lately, the Right Hon. Earl of Exeter. David Donald, fmith and edgetool maker, who was found dead within a few yards of his own door. He was a man of great natural genius, and supposed to be the firft temperer of iron in Scotland, perhaps in Britain, as no fpades, shovels, axes, &c. would fell in America from any part of England, when put in competition with his-The manner of his death is very melancholy; he had been in a public houfe in the evening, and having drank too freely, in returning home unfortunately tumbled into a hole, and was unable to extricate himself. What a lamentable example of the hurtful tendency of intoxication, and of these tippling houses, with respect to the morals and fafety of the people.

This Castle is about four miles fouth of Falkland. It belongs to Colonel Douglas, who is defcended of the Morton' family, and whose predeceffors have had the Eftate of Strathendry for several generations. Originally it belonged to the Forresters. The gallant Major Douglas lately killed at Toulon was the Colynel's fourth fon.
