So rare, that in Puttick's catalogue of 1860 it is said to be "unique." See "Notes and Queries," Jan. 3, 1852, from which it appears it was reprinted in sixteen pages. It has never been reprinted in any of the editions of Dr. Franklin's works. Twentyfive copies were reprinted, in fac-simile, by Charles Whittingham, for Henry Stevens, of London, about 1854. It is priced in the Nuggets, No. 1098, at £10 10s.

Generally attributed to Franklin, but perhaps by his son William. "It has recently been ascertained, however, that he was not, in fact, the author, although it was written under his direction, and doubtless from copious material furnished by him."-Sparks's Franklin, 111. 109. See also "M. Rev.," xxI. 367. Mr. Rice's copy is printed on very thick paper, and is perhaps unique. The editor of the following edition apparently had no doubt as to the authorship.
