1 (b) The last sentence of subsection (a) (9) of section 2 10 of the District Election Act is amended by deleting the 3 number "(5)" at the end thereof, and substituting in place 4 thereof the number " (8)".

5 (c) Subsection 10 (b) of the District Election Act is 6 amended by inserting after the words "general election for" 7 the words "Delegates and".

(d) Section 10 (c) of the District Election Act is 9 amended by (i) deleting after the words "of a tie vote", 10 the word "in", and inserting in lieu thereof the words "the 11 resolution of which will affect the outcome of", and (ii) 12 by deleting the words "following the election" and inserting 13 in lieu thereof the words "following determination by the 14 Board of the results of the election which require the resolu15 tion of such tie,”.

(e) Subsection (d) of section 10 of the District Elec17 tion Act is amended (i) by inserting after the words "official 18 other than" the words "a Delegate or winner of Delegate 19 primary election, or" and (ii) by inserting the following 20 additional sentences at the end thereof: "In the event that 21 such a vacancy occurs in the office of a candidate for Delegate 22 who has been declared the winner in the preceding Delegate 23 primary or party runoff election, the vacancy may be filled not later than fifteen days prior to the next Delegate general 25 election, by nomination by the party committee of the party

1 which nominated his predecessor, and by paying the filing

2 fee required by section 8 (i). In the event that such a vacancy

3

occurs in the office of Delegate, the Board shall call special 4 elections to fill such vacancy for the remainder of the term 5 but no such vacancy shall be filled which occurs within five 6 months of the expiration of a congressional term."

9 SEC. 6. (a) The Act of March 4, 1925 (sec. 4, ch. 10 549, 43 Stat. 1301, as amended (2 U.S.C. 31)), is amended 11 by deleting the word "and" after the words "Representa12 tives in Congress", and by inserting after the words "Puerto 13 Rico" a comma followed by the words "and the Delegate 14 from the District of Columbia".

(b) Revised Statutes, section 51, Act of July 16, 1914 16 (ch. 141, sec. 1, 38 Stat. 458 (2 U.S.C. 37)), is amended

by deleting the word "and" after the word "Congress”, and

by inserting a comma in lieu thereof, and by adding, after 19 the word "Commissioners", the words "Delegate from the 20 District of Columbia,".

(c) The Act of July 2, 1954 (ch. 455, title I, sec. 105,

23 inserting after "Resident Commissioner to," the words "or

:1 (d) The Act of June 23, 1949 (ch. 238, sec. 6, 63 2 Stat. 265 (2 U.S.C. 461)), section 11 (a) of the Legisla3 tive Appropriation Act, 1956 (69 Stat. 509, as amended 4 (2 U.S.C. 60g-1)), and the Act of March 25, 1953 (ch. 5 10, sec. 4, 67 Stat. 8, as renumbered (2 U.S.C. 112c)), are 6 each amended by deleting the words "from a Territory," 7 and by inserting a comma in lieu thereof.

8 (e) The last sentence of the eighteenth paragraph 9 under the subheading "CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE 10 HOUSE" under the heading "HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES” 11 in the Legislative Appropriation Act, 1955, as amended 12 (2 U.S.C. 122), is amended (i) by deleting the word 13 "and" following the words "Members of the House of 14 Representatives" and by inserting a comma in lieu thereof, 15 (ii) by deleting the semicolon after the words "Resident 16 Commissioner from Puerto Rico" and by inserting in lieu 17 thereof the words "and the Delegate from the District of 18 Columbia;", and (iii) by inserting after the words, "dis19 trict, Puerto Rico," the words "District of Columbia,".

(f) Subsection (i) of section 1 of the Act of June 25, 21 1910 (ch. 392, 36 Stat. 822), as amended (2 U.S.C. 241 22 (i)), and section 591, title 18, United States Code, are 23 each amended by deleting the period at the end thereof and 24 by inserting in lieu thereof a comma followed by the words 25 "and the District of Columbia".

1 (g) Chapter 11, title 18, United States Code, section 2 201, is amended by deleting the word "or" after the words 3 "Member of Congress" and inserting the words "or Delefrom the District of Columbia" after the words "Resi5 dent Commissioner"; sections 203 and 204 are each amended 6 by deleting the word "or" following the words "Resident 7 Commissioner" and by inserting after the words "Resident 8 Commissioner-elect" the words "Delegate from the District 9 of Columbia, or Delegate-elect from the District of Co10 lumbia".

(k) Title 10, United States Code, sections 4342 (a) (5)

1 and 9342 (a) (5), are each amended by deleting the word 2 "Commissioners" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words 3 "Delegate in Congress". Section 6954 (a) (5) of such title 4 is amended by deleting the words "Commissioners of" and 5 by inserting in lieu thereof the words "Delegate in Congress 6 from".

7 (1) The second sentence in the second paragraph of 8 section 7 of the District of Columbia Alcoholic Beverage 9 Control Act, as amended (D.C. Code, sec. 25-107), is 10 amended by striking out the words "the Presidential" and 11 by inserting in lieu thereof the word “any".

MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS OF DISTRICT ELECTION

ACT

SEC. 7. (a) Clause (A) of subsection (2) of section 2

15 of the District Election Act is amended by inserting after 16 the words "has resided" the words "or has been domiciled." 17 (b) Clause 2 of subsection (a) of section 8 of the Dis18 trict Election Act is amended by deleting the words "one 19 hundred," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "two 20 hundred."
