Item, the land, back and fore, of umquhill Patrick Whyt, now pertaining to Robert Watson, lying without the Castlegable Port, betwixt the land of John Davidson on the south, the land of umquhill Walter Dalgleish, now John Anderson's, on the north, the North Inch on the east, and the Common Gate on the west, pays yearly, viii sh. 22. Item, the Croft, called Bene's Croft, pertaining to John Mathew of Balhousie, adjacent to the "Giltin Harbour," pays yearly, xxxiii sh. iiii d.

23. Item, the land pertaining sometime to umquhill Laurence Dryden, now to Patrick Dundie, lying without the Castlegable Port, on the east side of the gate, betwixt the land of umquhill Walter Boig on the south, the Mill Lade on the north, pays quarterly of feu-maill or annuals, viii sh.

24. Item, the land beside this land sometime pertaining to John Peebles, now Patrick Dundie, lying betwixt the land of Thomas Mathewson on the west, and the land of Walter Brisone on the south, yearly pays, ii sh.

[These two articles belong to the heirs of Patrick Dundie, and are instructed in a particular charter. Warrant: a charter and sasine made of these two lands by John Fotheringham and Laurence Dryden; then a new charter and sasine of the foresaid annuals given by Agnes Dryden to Robert Shaklok, Prior, the 9th Nov. 1469, and confirmed by her husband, Stephen Jeffray, 22d Jan. 1469-70.]

25. Item, the land pertaining to the heirs of umquhill James Elder, lying betwixt the land of George Wood on the south, the common causeway on the north, the land of Patrick Snell on the west, pays yearly. 27. Item, furth of Logyalmond yearly, 1sh. yearly, with (or) forty cartful of peats furth of the Moor of Logy, and the carriage of them by the tenants of Logy. The warrant, King Robert's confirmation, the 18th of his reign, and King David, the 40th of his reign, and a decree of the Lords thereon, authorised by the King, anno 1490, Martii 14.

28. Item, furth of the land of Inchyra, called the "Byeland," occupied by Gilbert Blair, the heirs of umquhill John Foord, and the heirs of umquhill Francis Cochrane,

29. Item, furth of the lands of Moncrieff yearly, paid sometime to the Blackfriars of Perth, four bolls wheat, eight bolls bear, and eight bolls oats. The warrant: two charters, King Robert's confirmation, 17th of his reign. In case of slack payment poinding by the Sheriff of Perth, and excommunication of the Bishop of St. Andrews. Which victual is appointed and agreed on to pay yearly to the Hospital of Perth, xxvi lib. xiii sh. iiii d. 30. Item, furth of the lands of Inchmartin, eight bolls wheat, eight bolls bear, out of the grinal of Inchmartin. The warrant: a charter made by John of Inchmartin of four bolls wheat, and eight bolls bear, 1334. Another charter made by Allan Erskyn and his wife Isobell, daughter and heretrix of the foresaid John, and four bolls wheat "eiket" thereto, anno 1369; also a decreet of the Lords thereon, anno 1503, Feb. 14, and a confirmation of King David, 7th April, and 40th year of his reign. Penalty for non or evil payment, poinding of goods wherever they may be found, and by the Bishop of St. Andrews, Bishop of Dunkeld, or their officials, excommunication. Which victual is appointed and agreed on for yearly payment to the Hospital of the Burgh of Perth, xxvi lib. xiii sh. iiii d.

31. Item, out of the Laird of Fingask's lands, a boll of "well dicht" white pease to be brought to the Blackfriars' place of Perth, the first week of Lent. The warrant: a charter and sasine given by William Scot of Balwearie to the Friars and their successors of two acres, lying in the Meadow of Flawcraig, anno 1410. The Meadow Mill is feued by Robert Shaklok, Prior of the Blackfriars, with the advice of John Musselburgh, general of their order, to John Scot, then Laird of Fingask, for the foresaid one boll of white pease, anno 1460, componit for yearly, xxxiii sh. iiii d.

[January 1st, 1630.—A new contract made betwixt the Lady and the Laird, and the Hospital, for iii lib. vi sh. viii d. money yearly, in all time coming, for the said one boll white pease.]

32. Item, furth of the orchard of Inchyra, by the Lords, for the uphold of two "lichts" in the Blackfriars Kirk of Perth, yearly,

34. Item, they have all and haill the half-lands of Littiltoun, with the pertinents, lying within the Sheriffdom of Perth, given, doted, and founded of old to the said Friars Predicators "in puram eleemosinam," as their infeftment and securities bear, and wrangously detained and withheld by my Lord Gray, now pretended possessor of the saids, from the said Hospital of Perth since the date of their gift, which lands

paid yearly, xx lib., with six dozen of poultry, geese, and capons, and every three years twenty pounds of grassum.

[The warrant, a decreet of the Lords upon the lands of Littiltoun, 5 March 1544, and a decreet of the Lords for giving new infeftment to the Friars by Patrick, Lord Gray, 21 July 1543; an act of the Sheriff of Perth, specifying the maills, poultry, and grassum of Littiltoun, 14th April 1544; a deliverance of the Lords for the lands and duties, 18th Decr. 1546; letters of four forms with another decreet against the Lord Gray coming in place of the tenants of Littiltoun, 18th Decr. 1546; a charge to the Lord Gray not to maill with the lands of Littiltoun, 18th Decr. 1546; an appointment betwixt the Friars and Lord Gray for good payment, 6th Aug. 1550; executions upon tenants 16 March 1546.]

36. Item, out of the Barony of Arngask by one Hew Berklaw, Laird of Kippo, yearly,

Item, the Hospital of Perth has all and haill that croft of land called the Blackfriars' Croft, lying without the Castlegavill Port, with the Blackfriars' yard, and yard where the place was sometime situated, with the "Giltin Harbour" and pertinents belonging thereto, which was of old "dotat" to the Friars Predicators, presently occupied by James Lamb, burgess of Perth; which comptit and taen by him for three score eleven bolls, and three score eleven pecks of bear yearly during his tack.
