In the Clerk's Office of the District Court of Massachusetts.
TUTTLE AND WE EKS, PRINTERS.
No. 8, School Street.
For a portion of the contents of this little volume, we have been indebted to a variety of sources. Many of the pieces, however, are original, and we would take this opportunity of expressing our acknowledgments to such writers as have favored us with their assistance. The wood-cuts, it is believed, will be found surpassed in execution by few engravings, which this department of the art has produced in our country.
We have endeavored to render the work acceptable, in every respect, to the class of readers, for whom it is designed. If, by a suitable encouragement, we should be flattered into the belief, that our efforts to please have been successful, we hope to come before the youthful public, with superior claims upon their favor, another year.
