Dear Sir:-In accordance with the provisions of the General Statutes I have the honor to submit herewith the Nineteenth Annual Report of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The regular office force during the past year consisted of chief clerk, Mr. Wm. D. Parker, of Meriden; permanent special agent, Mr. Geo. A. Parsons, of Hartford; stenographer, Miss J. Belle Cone, of Middletown. Information has been collected with regard to New Mill Construction, Statistics of Manufactures, Strikes and Lockouts; the name and secretary of labor organizations in Connecticut are also given; the operation of the Free Public Employment Bureaus, extract from the anthracite coal strike, and the revised labor laws. In presenting this report to you I wish to say that through the courtesy extended to the bureau by the Manufacturers and the officers of the Labor Unions and the experience and faithfulness of my assistants that in this report the material gathered and the tabulation of the same are as complete and correct as is possible to obtain.
